Hazardous waste must be handled correctly, in line with the current UK regulations

If you fail to do so, you risk tarnishing your company’s reputation, failing in your statutory duty and damaging the surrounding natural environment.

Focusing on health and safety measures

RSK Response manages the removal of hazardous and fly-tipped waste, and provides skip, soil excavation and tanker hire services if the incident is on a larger scale. Our technical staff are qualified to deal with hazardous chemical spills and to test for contamination in the laboratory. Our specialised vehicles are fitted with safety measures that enable us to collect, treat and dispose of used batteries, oils, bulk liquid, solvents, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), fluorescent tubes, bagged asbestos-containing materials, contaminated absorbents, aerosols, etc. We also remediate and treat asbestos-contaminated soil.

Additionally, we assess discarded material and audit the associated management process, thereby ensuring that all movements of hazardous materials are tracked. Various responsibilities, known as duties of care, must be met, depending on whether you are a producer, a carrier or a consignee. We make sure that all regulations are met; we also store all records of waste movement for at least the mandatory five years.
